Kompassi´s opening hours change starting from 1st of September:

New groups and clubs at Kompassi this autumn

Finnish language and culture club for immigrant seniors

Welcome to learn Finnish language as well as culture. We will learn Finnish language and culture through music, poems and photos. We will also visit museums. We will try to learn easy and understandable Finnish.

This club is meant for immigrant seniors/pensioners.
It's free for them.

Place: Multicultural Center Kompassi (myllykatu 1-3)
Date: Every second Tuesday starting from 14.9.2010
Time: From 1:00-2:30 afternoon

Knitting club

In this club you will learn to knit socks, muflers etc. You can get knitting materials from
Kompassi. If you want you can bring your own knitting materials with you.

Learn computer basics -course

Place: Petonen community hall computer room
Date: Every Friday starting from 17.9.2010 at 5pm - 8pm
(on 10.9. at 17:00 group meeting with the teacher at Petonen asukastupa

- There is possibility for 9 people in the course
- Coaching is basically in English, (teacher speaks some Finnish/Russian)
- Course is free of cost
- Materials will be provided by the teacher

What will you learn?

Module 1: Computer basics
Module 2: Computer security and privacy
Module 3: Digital lifestyles (audio, video, photography etc)
Module 4: Productivity programs (word, spreadsheets etc)
Module 5: The internet and the world wide web (www)

Are you interested in multicultural volunteer work? Would you like to have new hobbies and meet new friends? Come and join Kompassi´s growing group of volunteers.

Kompassi organizes on Wednesday 8.9. at 6-7:30 pm an infotainment about volunteering possibilities at Kompassi for those who are interested in multicultural volunteer work, also Kompassi´s current volunteers are more than welcome to join the infotainment too.
