Maslenitsa (Shrovetide) - Russian family event - open for all
Date and time: Saturday 18.2. from 12-15
Place: Multicultural Center Kompassi (Hapelähteenkatu 33)
Shrovetide is Russian family event which will be held in Kompassi. This is an event indicative of coming summer.
There will be music, dance and Shrovetide-hobbycrafts etc., during the event. Some tea and "blini" (pan cakes resembling the sune) will be served! You can come with your kids to the function.
This event is free and open for all. Welcome to get to know the Shrovetide event of Russians!
Russian songs and poems evening at

Keeping in line with Shrovetide event, the Russian songs and peoms event will be held at Kompassi.
The program will include peoms and song performances in Finnish and Russian.
Plus... interested in reciting your own peom? You are most welcome to do so in the event!

New Finnish language course at Kompassi from Thursday 26.1.12
Kompassi is adding one more Finnish language course to its list. The LEVEL - O course will start from next week's Thursday 26.1.12.
Time: Thursdays from 16 - 17:30
This group is meant for beginners.
Kompassi's premise reservation/booking calendar
We have added Kompassi's reservation/booking calendar to our webpages. In this net caledar you can see how Kompassi's premises/space is booked for the spring season. This calendar shows only those activities that are held at Kompassi. But many of our activities are held out side of our premises and more info about them is given on our web pages and we regularly update our customers about our activities through our emailing list.
With the help of this calendar you can also see when Kompassi's space is free for use and accordingly you can do the bookings. By clicking on the reserved spot you can see what booking has been made.

Let's read together groups at Kompassi
You can learn Finnish through this group. It is meant for all the levels, the teaching method is "one-three students per teacher". You will be taught according to your level.
On Tuesdays from 10 - 12 at tyttöjen talo (Only for women, upstairs - above Kompassi) from 10.1.12
On wednesdays from 16 - 18 at Kompassi (for both men and women) from 14.1.12

Anti-Racism and Global Education projects at Kompassi
Varpu Vuorenrinne is coodinating anti-racism project targeting the youth and the global education project.
Come and work with us as a volunteer in these projects. You can organize school visits, events or shows/exhibitions!
